International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. It is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
As a female-owned and run business, Creighton’s ultimate goal is to lift-up, inspire and support other women which is why we have created special charity chocolate bar every year to support female-focused charities.
Last year, we raised more than £900 from our first charity chocolate bar for Girls Out Loud, a social enterprise with a mission to raise the aspirations of teen girls in the UK. ‘Girl Power’ bar was mentioned on Telegraph and Vogue
Following on from the success of 2018, this year we’ve created a special chocolate bar in partnership with Young Women’s Trust. 50p from the sale of each bar goes to support and represent young women struggling to live on low or no pay and who are risk of being trapped in poverty in the UK and Scotland.
‘Not only do you get to enjoy a milk chocolate bar stuffed with cookie pieces, you’re also helping another woman achieve her goals and live her life the way she wants.’ - Lucy Elliott, Director of Creighton’s Chocolaterie.
